THE BEST SUMMER CAmps

The safety and well-being of our campers remains our top priority.  in response to COVID-19,  We will strictly adhere to the recommended CDC guidelines:  social distancing (6′ apart), limit camp enrollment size, require frequent hand-washing and surface disinfection.  We will also restrict sharing of supplies and kits.  staff and campers are required to wear face-coverings.  Pediatric face-masks will be provided, if needed.  temperature checks will be conducted at check in, and if campers are displaying any symptoms of covid-19 will not be eligible to participate.

We will continue to monitor and implement current guidelines as they change.

questions can be emailed to contact@thestemlabs.com.  CDC Guidelines can be found at www.cdc.gov

WEEK EIGHT:  JULY 20-24

K-2nd GRADE

AM CAMP

MINI CODE BUSTERS

Become a sleuth a decoding messages and use science to solve mysteries.  Exercise your brain by solving puzzles and thinking-out-side the box!

3-5th GRADE

AM CAMP

CODE BUSTERS

Our detectives will learn how to decode encrypted messages, solve problems using deductive reasoning, and use cipher tools to challenge their peers. This camp will also have cross-overs to the Forensic Science camp.

4-7TH grade

AM CAMP

FORENSIC SCIENCE

Learn about the field of forensic science.  Analyze  evidence such as fibers, fingerprints, footprints, hair, and (synthetic) blood in our lab.  Then use your deductive reasoning skills to break the case and solve the mystery.

K-2ND grade

PM CAMP

ULTIMATE STEM SCIENCE CAMP

From Little Bits, to Lego Robotics, and microscopes to chemistry sets, our little explorers can use their creativity and thirst for knowledge to explore multiple areas of STEM!

1-5th grade

PM CAMP

ZOOLOGY with Marine Science

Learn all about animals on our planets and their fascinating anatomy, physiology, characteristics, behaviors and habitats!

3-5TH grade

ULTIMATE STEM SCIENCE CAMP

From Little Bits, to Lego Robotics, and microscopes to chemistry sets, our little explorers can use their creativity and thirst for knowledge to explore multiple areas of STEM!

WEEK NINE: JULY 27-31

K-2ND grade

AM CAMP

CHEMISTRY

Have fun hypothesizing, mixing, analyzing, and repeating! We will introduce our young chemists to safe and fun experiments to help stimulate curisoity about the world around them!

3-5th GRADE

AM CAMP

CHEMISTRY

Campers will be introduced to the chemical elements on the periodic table and use models to build organic molecules.  An interactive review of the states of matter, the effect of pressure and temperature on states of matter, and transitions between these states will be explored using fun and rememberable hands-on activities.

K-3ND grade

PM CAMP

JUNIOR DOCTOR

Join us for a field trip through the human body!  Learn about the 11 major body systems through building interactive organ models.

K-3rd grade

PM CAMP

LEGO ROBOTICS

Have fun building and designing different robotics each day using our LEGO Education WeDo platform.  Kids will be challenged to create and code builds to accomplish special missions!

3-8TH grade

PM CAMP

LEGO ROBOTICS

Each student will use the Lego Robotic platforms to engineer and code their own robots including the new SPIKE system and Mindstorms.   We encourage critical-thinking and problem-solving skills as their robotic designs are challenged to complete specific tasks.  Emphasis will be placed on The Scientific Method and Experimental Design.

WEEK TEN:  AUGUST 3-7

K-2ND grade

AM CAMP

FOOD CHEMISTRY

Learn how food fuels your body and how your sense of taste and smell work in concert when you eat. Density drinks, fizzy candies and so many more food science experiments for our youngest gastronomists!

K-2nd GRADE

PM CAMP

MATH GAMING

Research reveals that “students lose approximately 2.6 months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months”.  This FUN math camp will refresh grade-appropriate math skills through games and play.   Give your brain a big boost and jump-start and your confidence before we begin a new academic year!

3-5TH grade

AM CAMP

FOOD CHEMISTRY

STEM bakers will practice measurements and conversions and learn how each ingredient contributes to a chemical reaction inside the oven.   Then get busy with lots of food science experiments such as extracting DNA from a strawberry, creating rock candy, designing Jell-O optics and pulling iron out of fortified cereals!

GENERAL CAMP OVERVIEW:

  • Weekly camp sessions run Monday-Friday.  Each weekly session (AM  or PM)  is $199 per child.
  • All camp supplies are included in the cost of the camp. No additional fees will be collected for camp activities.
  • For added convenience, campers who have reserved a morning and afternoon block in the same week, are able to stay for the lunch hour (12-1pm) under our supervision.  Campers should bring their own lunch to The STEM Labs.
  • It is important for all families to be punctual for pick up times, so our staff has enough opportunity clean-up and properly prepare for the next session at our facilities. Students with late pick-ups will be waiting for their family in the front lobby.
  • Refund policy for our Summer Camp program is outlined in the Terms and Conditions section located on our website. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OFFER REFUNDS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST. We are happy to move campers into another available camp session, if available.
